From time to time there are moments when we need much more than twenty four hours to fulfil all our things to do. In the majority of cases we have time to cope with urgent tasks, and everyday we hear a certain number of complaints that there is no time to meet friends, or to visit the family, or even to allot a couple of hours to ourselves. Is that familiar to you? Conceive that you are able to slow down the time. It's possible if you follow 3 simple recommendations listed below. 1. Do not put off your things to do. Procrastination is not only postponing all the tasks, sometimes it is just failure to give priority when people convince themselves that the small things they do are of great importance, but postpone those tasks that are really require to be done. It happens in case these tasks aren't very pleasant, or if a person doesn't know where to start. Remember that procrastination does not solve your problems, it may only make them worse. That's why it is reasonable to make a schedule of your urgent tasks in order of decreasing importance, and start with the most essential tasks. Don't postpone essential tasks till late evening, it's just a psychological trick. 2. Difficult duties are to be accomplished first. If you have two or more duties with similar priority, begin with the most difficult thing. It's human nature to put off the tasks that seem complicated or unpleasant. It is not reasonable both because you waste your time and because the longer you wait the more impracticable the task would seem. That's why be honest to yourself, and begin with complicated duties. 3. If it is possible multitask. Take into account the words: if it is possible. For example, the situation on the road needs your concentration, so do not try to settle your business troubles on the telephone when driving. It is a good idea to combine mental duties with mechanical ones. When you need to water the flowers or to do the dishes, you may begin with these tasks while talking on the phone. But make sure that your efforts to multitask don't slow down your activity. Try these recommendations on practice, and you will save a lot of time. But nevertheless, take into consideration that no strategy will work if you waste time on nonproductive activity. Every now and then we tell ourselves that we will take some rest just for a minute but then we find it even more difficult to concentrate on our obligations. There is a famous proverb: business before pleasure. |
